OctaFX vs Exness Copy Trading: What Changed in 2026?
Reviewed . Exness service status is based on its official notice. Images from the earlier comparison are labelled as archive material.
If you are choosing between OctaFX Copytrading and Exness Social Trading, the old comparison needs an important update. Exness's official Copy Trading help page states that new strategies and investments are no longer available and that existing strategies and investments were closed on 25 June 2026. The two names in the old article can no longer be treated as two confirmed, currently available sign-up choices.
For readers returning to an old account, the immediate task is finding the correct account information and understanding the closure. For someone exploring copy trading now, availability, fees and exit rules should come before a comparison of historical performance tables.
What changed at Exness?
The Personal Area help page updated on 24 September 2026 says that users can still view their past history and access their investment wallet through the Copy Trading tab in the web Personal Area. That is the relevant starting point for checking an old investment. Use your usual verified Exness access route and follow the instructions shown for your account.
This notice concerns the Copy Trading service described by that help centre. It should not be interpreted as a statement that ordinary Exness brokerage accounts have all closed. It does mean that an old Social Trading banner or referral link is unsuitable evidence that you can start copying a strategy today.

Why does the other service still appear as OctaFX?
Octa's official 2023 announcement says that it removed “FX” from its brand name. Older pages and images therefore use OctaFX, while later official material uses Octa and Octa Copy. A historical name change does not establish which legal company, regional offer or account features are available to a particular customer now.
Octa's indexed official copy-trading material describes a service built around selecting Master Traders and checking copying commission. The full current terms were not available for verification during this review, so this article does not present the old minimum deposits, commission figures or platform feature list as current facts. Confirm the service and the applicable agreement in your own official account before committing money.

If you previously copied an Exness strategy
Save the investment history and the wallet balance shown in your account. If you cannot reconcile a transaction, contact official support with the investment identifier and relevant dates. Do not infer a current withdrawal procedure from an old screenshot, and do not pay a third party claiming it can reopen a closed strategy or release funds through a private wallet.
If your concern is an unexplained account balance rather than the service name, keep the support case and transaction records together. Our article on Telegram forex scams explains why unsolicited recovery offers deserve independent verification.
What matters when evaluating any available copy service?
Begin with the history behind the return figure. A short winning period, a high percentage of winning trades and a smooth balance line tell you little about losses still open in the account. Look for equity drawdown, the age of the strategy, changes in exposure and whether the provider increases position sizes after losing trades.
Next, understand the size of trades that will reach your account. A copying ratio, minimum trade size or different account currency can change the result. Several copied providers may also hold similar positions, so selecting three names does not necessarily create three independent risks.
Finally, read how fees and stopping work. Check when a performance fee is charged, how previous losses are treated, and whether stopping copying closes open positions or only prevents new ones. A risk setting is useful only when you understand its trigger, execution conditions and limitations. It does not turn a leveraged strategy into a guaranteed investment.

A fee example that a return chart can hide
Hypothetical illustration: suppose you allocate $1,000 and a strategy makes $100 before a 20% performance fee. The fee is $20, leaving $1,080 before any other charges. If the next period loses $150 and no further fee applies in that period, the remaining value is $930. The earlier profitable period did not prevent an overall $70 loss.
This is arithmetic, not the stated pricing of either provider. Real agreements may use different fee bases, billing dates and treatment of prior losses. Compare net results under the actual agreement and read our guide to trading probability and expectancy before treating a high win rate as evidence of profitability.
A practical decision before you follow a trader
Write down the service's legal entity, whether you are eligible to use it, the amount allocated, the fee basis and your exit procedure. If a feature or charge cannot be explained from the agreement and the account screen, resolve that question first. It is easier to evaluate a strategy when its size and costs are clear; spread costs and position-risk planning remain relevant even when another person chooses the entries.
The earlier referral destination could not be verified during this update, so it is not offered as a signup link. Check the current service, legal entity and regional terms on the provider’s official website before making a decision.
